The city is seeking volunteers interested in serving on the Gig Harbor Civil Service Commission.
Commissioners must live within city limits and will be selected for a six-year term. The Civil Service Commission provides direction for the establishment of eligibility lists for the various classes of positions in the Police Department, certifies these lists for hiring purposes, hears complaints respecting any examination and such other matters, and keeps appropriate records.
The commission shall meet at least once a quarter or more often as needed.
Persons interested in serving on the Civil Service Commission should submit a completed application by Tuesday, March 5, 2024. The position is voluntary and is not subject to compensation by the city.
