In 1999 my husband, Del, and I fell in love with Gig Harbor and decided to make this special place our home.
The greatest honor of my life was to be elected, in 2018, to the Gig Harbor City Council and to represent your voice with my vote.
As your elected representative one of my priorities is to keep Gig Harbor a town that is healthy, safe and functions for all our citizens. I remain excited to work together with each of you, city staff and Council members to ensure decisions are made with transparency and input from all our citizens.
Continuing to conserve land is something I know is important to you. Maintaining our parks, preserving our charm and the history of our special town is important to all of us. Uptown, Gig Harbor North and downtown, traffic, successful businesses, environmental issues and a fiscal sound city are just some of the issues that keep our council study sessions busy.
Volunteering on our Gig Harbor Arts Commission is one way I began my public service journey. With 34 years as an artist and small business owner I worked with other artists and local businesses to form the Feel Good Free Art Project. Our goal was to inspire shopping during a 2009 downturn in our local economy. Other volunteer positions included Summer Art Festival with Peninsula Art League, Gig Harbor Film Festival, Gig Harbor Meaningful Movies, and as an 8 year MultiCare Oncology volunteer.
Connecting with citizens is something I love about being your public servant. I do my best to answer your emails. You are invited to my monthly community listening session Jeni Listens, my City Council Facebook page and inclusion on my email list.
I look forward to seeing you in our parks, shopping locally, volunteering somewhere and invite your application to serve on one of our citizen advisory commissions.
It is an honor to serve you.
