Emergency Preparedness Information

The City of Gig Harbor partners with the Pierce County Department of Emergency Management (PCDEM) to provide services during a local emergency. Hazards in Pierce County may come in many forms, including earthquakes, flooding, landslides, wildfires, and severe weather.  Disaster can strike at any time, so it's important to be prepared for any situation.

pep-c-logo-white-background-lee_origThe Peninsula Emergency Preparedness Coalition (PEP-C) is a non-profit group that provides disaster preparedness services and education to Gig Harbor residents. PEP-C's mission is "to develop public awareness of the urgent need for preparedness in the event of local emergency or major disaster."

PEP-C provides training and outreach to neighborhoods and community groups. Their website is an abundant source of plans, tips, and checklists to help make sure everyone is prepared.
