Planning Commission

The planning commission consists of seven volunteer members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council. Members serve four-year terms and must be residents of the city.

The primary charge of the planning commission is to make legislative recommendations to the city council on matters related to long-range land use planning including the comprehensive plan amendments, zoning text amendments, and area-wide rezones. View the Gig Harbor Municipal Code (GHMC) Title 2.20 for more information on the Planning Commission.

The planning commission meets at 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of every month.
