The project would remove the existing 162-foot long dock, including a152 square foot solid-decked pier, a 96 square foot ramp, three (3) 200 square foot floats and four (4) creosote piles. The new 190-foot long, 1,240 square foot dock would meet current dock design standards, consisting of a 100' x 6' pier, a 40' x 4' ramp, and a 60' x 8' float. The new system will be supported by ten (10) steel pier piles and eight (8) steel float piles.
The replacement and installation of all dock structural components will be conducted from a construction barge floated in at high tide and deployed no more than seven consecutive days at the site. All creosote-treated pile will be removed through vibratory hammer and Best Management Practices (BMPs) have been incorporated into the project design to avoid and minimize short-term and long-term impacts to water quality, listed species and their habitats in the action area.
