Notice is hereby given that the City of Gig Harbor City Council is holding a public hearing to solicit community feedback on Ordinance 1530 as summarized below:

ORDINANCE 1530

 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GIG HARBOR, WASHINGTON, ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 3.53 TO THE GIG HARBOR MUNCIPAL CODE CODIFYING THE CITY’S PRIOR ASSUMTION OF THE CITY’S TRANSPORTATION BENEFIT DISTRICT AND NEW IMPOSITION OF AN ADDITIONAL SALES AND USE TAX OF ONE-TENTH OF ONE PERCENT WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GIG HARBOR TRANSPORTATION BENEFIT DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS IN THE DISTRICT AS AUTHORIZED BY RCW 36.73.065 AND RCW 82.14.0455; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Residents are invited to provide comment to the City Council at the hearing or in writing as outlined in this notice.

All residents will have an opportunity to present their oral comments at the public hearing in-person in the Council Chambers at 3510 Grandview Street. Oral comments are limited to three minutes. The public hearing may also be accessed by joining the virtual meeting at https://zoom.us/j/93216056382 or by calling (253) 215-8782 and entering Meeting ID 932 1605 6382.  

Those wishing to submit written comments in lieu of oral comments may do so by submitting them to the City Clerk at 3510 Grandview Street, Gig Harbor, WA 98335, or by e-mail at cityclerk@gigharborwa.gov.  All written comments must be received by noon on Monday, September 23, 2024. Written comments are not subject to the three-minute time limit and will be provided to the City Council and entered into the record for the public hearing. Written comments will not be read aloud during the public hearing.
