Peninsula Light utility crews will be working in several areas of Gig Harbor on Wednesday, Dec. 10, to pull old power poles beginning at 4 p.m. Work will take place in the evening to minimize impacts to residents and local businesses.
Work is planned for the following areas:
- Hill Avenue and Lewis Street: Crews will remove utility poles in the residential area. No outages and no loud machinery are expected. Only a brief lane shift will be in place, and work is anticipated to move quickly.
- Pioneer Ave: Additional pole removals will continue along Pioneer. No outages or loud machinery are anticipated here either. Lane shifts will be used as needed.
- Judson Street and Pioneer Avenue: Later in the evening, crews will take a planned outage to safely work on a pole at this intersection. This is the only location where power outages and some machinery noise are expected, and impacts may affect nearby businesses.
Drivers should expect short, intermittent lane shifts and flaggers directing traffic. Delays should be minimal. Please use caution in work zones and follow all posted traffic control.
Thank you for your patience as this important safety work is completed.
