Application PL-SEPA-23-0003 – MURPHY'S LANDING MARINE REPAIR
The project would replace the existing 15,189 square foot marina system with an upgraded 15,189 square foot structure, positioned within the existing marina footprint. The existing marina system
consists of solid decked float structure, nine steel pile, 70 creosote pile and three gangway ramps. The solid decked float structure will be replaced with float structures that incorporate 50 percent
fiberglass grated decking. The 70 creosote pile will be replaced with 52 12-inch steel pile, with the existing 9 steel pile and gangway
ramps to remain.
The existing creosote piling will be removed using a tugboat and
barge equipped with a pile driver and extractor, The extracted piling will not be shaken or scraped and placed directly into a
containment bin located on the construction barge. New galvanized piling will be barged to the project and installed using a vibratory
hammer. Once the piling is in place, the new prefabricated floating marina system will be installed. All construction debris will be
barged to an approved upland disposal site.
Best Management Practices {BMPs) have been incorporated into
the project design to avoid and minimize short-term and long-term impacts to listed species and their habitats in the action area.
Therefore, no additional mitigation measures are required.
