The City of Gig Harbor issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (MDNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter 197-11-WAC) for the following project:
Application PL-SEPA-23-0008 – Bucholz Boatlift Installation Shoreline Development Permit
Location: 8797 N. Harborview Drive | Parcel 4097000020
The proposal is to install a 10,000lb boat lift just waterward of the existing bulkhead allowing a small vessel to be raised to the level of the deck for safer access to the vessel. The Boatlift shall be supported using 4 10-inch diameter galvanized steel piles.
After review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the agency, the City of Gig Harbor has determined the above proposal, with mitigation, will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment.

A public hearing on the proposed project is scheduled before the City of Gig Harbor Hearing Examiner on August 20, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. virtually via Zoom. The public is invited to comment on this DNS at the public hearing, or by submitting written comments to the above address no later than 5 PM on August 20, 2024.The deadline for appealing the final SEPA Threshold Determination is August 27, 2024.
