The City of Gig Harbor, in conjunction with its contractor Pape and Sons Construction, will be completing work in various locations throughout the Soundview Drive Watermain Replacement project area Monday, December 9 through Friday, December 13. This work may cause traffic to be delayed more than usual.
Work will include:
- Raising of valve cans at and south of Hunt Street;
- Paving at Carl’s Junior and at all the valves south of Erickson Street;
- Installation of the new traffic control loop at Olympic Dr. and Hollycroft Street; and
- Installation of a large valve at the Olympic Drive entrance of Olympic Village (beginning around 5:00 a.m. on December 13).
Operations will begin at approximately 7:00 a.m. each day, unless otherwise noted above, and will last throughout daylight hours. Paving work is weather dependent. Weather dependent means not only dry but above a certain air and ground temperature.
For questions, please contact Project Inspector Jake Nelson at 253-377-1492 or by email at jnelson@gigharborwa.gov.
We understand that construction can be challenging and a great inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the watermain replacement project.
